Experience Provider Information:
Skydive Australia was founded in 1999 by two optimistic young mates with a shared passion for adventure and skydiving. Starting from humble beginnings on a beachfront in Wollongong, the company has grown significantly over the years. What began with a single six-seater Cessna 206—a small, single-engine aircraft—has now evolved into one of Australia’s leading skydiving operators, with 12 drop zones across the country and a fleet of planes supporting its operations.
The company’s success has been propelled by the enthusiasm of the skydivers themselves. Their excitement, joy, and the stories they share after each jump have played a key role in making Skydive Australia a household name in the industry. While few people get to spend their days doing something they are truly passionate about, the team at Skydive Australia considers itself incredibly fortunate. However, they recognize that with this privilege comes great responsibility—the responsibility to earn each skydiver’s trust and deliver an experience that meets or exceeds their expectations.
For most people, their first skydive is a major leap of faith—a moment that requires both courage and the desire to experience something extraordinary. Skydive Australia is committed to supporting every customer through each step of the journey, ensuring that they feel safe, confident, and excited throughout the entire process. Every member of the team is carefully selected for their enthusiasm, reliability, and dedication to creating a fun and safe environment. With more than 20 years of experience in choosing the right people for the job, the company has built a team of experts who are passionate about sharing the skydiving experience with others.
At Skydive Australia, it’s not just about the jump—it’s about making each customer’s dream of flight a reality. Whether it’s their first skydive or their 50th, Skydive Australia is committed to delivering an unforgettable experience, every time.
Terms and Conditions:
Location & Duration of a Tandem Skydive:
- Note that all bookings are given an ‘arrival/check-in’ time only. Please note this is not a skydive ‘jump’ time.
- Whilst SA endeavor to complete an individual’s tandem skydive within 4 hours of arrival, SA advise arriving with no time constraints, and should plan for this to be a whole day’s activity.
- As safety is SA’s main concern, factors such as wind, cloud, rain, thermal turbulence etc. and other factors such as air traffic can affect the time it takes to complete the skydive activity.
- Weather can change for better or worse in minutes, and customers will be unable to skydive unless they are at SA’s Drop Zone.
- SA utilises multiple landing sites at each of its locations.
- The location of the landing site for each parachute drop may vary depending on weather conditions, with the focus being on customer safety.
- Customers must remain with their Tandem Master and listen to their instructions as landing areas may present additional hazards such as sand dunes, tides, or local wildlife.
- Refunds or compensation will not be made if a spectator does not witness a landing.
Personal Identification:
- Make sure that you and everyone in your group has a valid government-issued photo ID on arrival at the drop zone on the day of your skydive.
Age Requirements:
- By law the minimum age to tandem skydive in Australia is 16 years old. SA must be notified in writing prior to the jump date if a customer is between 16 and 18 years of age and must have parental or legal guardian consent.
- If under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present at the drop zone on the day of the skydive.
- If a parent or legal guardian is not present, the customer must immediately notify a member of staff at the drop zone, who will arrange for the correct documents of consent to be sent and signed prior to skydiving.
Medical Conditions:
- Skydive Australia must be notified prior to the jump date of any pre-existing or existing medical conditions, injuries or illnesses. You will also be asked when you check in and may require an assessment from the Safety Officer.
- Medical conditions which could affect the customer’s safety should be discussed with a doctor to ensure customers are fit to skydive. If required, bring a medical certificate with you from your doctor confirming you are okay to participate in a skydive.
- Please advise SA if you are taking prescription medication.
- It is the provider’s obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, sinus or ear equalising issues on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump, and we urge you to proceed with caution.
Consumption of Alcohol or ‘Recreational’ Drugs:
- No alcohol or “recreational” drugs are to be consumed within 8 hours prior to the scheduled skydive jump time. For the safety of all customers and staff, SA reserves the right to refuse customers who are suspected of being intoxicated or having impaired judgment, and this does not constitute a claim for a refund.
Restrictions for Scuba Diving:
- Due to medical restrictions, you must not scuba dive within 24 hours of the scheduled skydive jump time.
Restrictions on Personal Equipment:
- For the safety of all customers and in accordance with skydive regulations, the use of all electronic devices, including personal camera and video equipment is not permitted on the aircraft or at any time during the jump.
- SA does not take responsibility for any personal belongings lost during a skydive including glasses or clothing.
Purchasing Photos and Videos:
- While it is not mandatory to book a video or photographs, it is advisable, as on some occasions a late change of mind may result in disappointment.
- If you have purchased a video package through SA, it will be tested on the day of your tandem skydive, and then made available for viewing on the same day.
- Your acceptance of the video on the day will be deemed as your approval of it being in full working order.
- No refunds will be made available after your departure from our offices for those videos that are considered not to be in full working order.
- Please be advised that there should be any technical issues relating to camera/dubbing equipment, no refunds can be made for the individual skydive as the filming and skydive are two separate products.
- If we are unable to provide you with the skydive video or photo product due to technical issues a refund for the video or photo product purchased will be issued.
- If only a portion of your video or photo product fails you will be issued with a refund for the balance of the amount paid less the value of the product actually received.
Copyright Photos and Videos:
- Videos and photographs purchased through SA remain the copyright of the videographer who took the footage and they own and retain the right to the footage and photographs.
- A license agreement exists between SA and the respective videographer who took the respective footage.
- Such footage may be used by SA for company marketing purposes and reproduction of videos sold and may only be used or reproduced by the purchaser or recipient for private or domestic purposes and must not be used for any commercial purpose, including promotion of any supplier or any supplier’s products or services without the videographer’s and SA’s prior permission.
- Should you not want any of your footage or photographs uploaded to SA social media platforms, or used in company marketing, it is your responsibility to advise our SA staff prior to your jump.
Australian Parachute Federation (APF):
- APF Membership is mandatory for all tandem skydive customers. The APF membership levy is included in the price of your tandem skydive, there are no other hidden fees or prices. Wherever possible, all customers must pre-register with the APF before arriving at the drop zone. Links to the APF form may be found on your confirmation email. All payments and documents must be completed prior to skydiving.
Online Check-in Form (APF Registration):
- Wherever possible, all customers must complete an online check-in form including pre-registration with the Australian Parachute Federation (APF) before arriving at the drop zone. Links to the online check-in form may be found on the confirmation email, emailed or sent via a text message prior to arrival, or on a mobile device on arrival at the skydive drop zone. All documents must be completed by the Guest and not the Agent, prior to skydiving. A safety briefing and gear-up must be completed by the Guest on arrival.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI):
- This is included in the cost of your skydive for customers between the ages of 16 – 75 years. For further information please consult the product disclosure statement on the APF website.
Cancellations and No Shows by a Customer:
- Notice of a cancellation must be provided by email to SA Reservations. Cancellations of one or more customers received any time (including customers who do not show at the drop zone on the jump date) will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total booking value. If a customer fails to show up or load on the day of their skydive, a 100% cancellation fee will now apply.
Amendments by a Customer:
- Customers can now amend their booking free of charge up to 24 hours before their scheduled skydive. To amend a booking contact SA Agent Hotline on 1300 800 840.
- Please note that amendments are not permitted within 24 hours of travel.
Customer’s Change of Mind:
- Payments will be forfeited, and no refunds will be given to a customer who fails to go through with a skydive or decides to change to a different experience of a lesser value.
Changes by SA to a Confirmed Skydive:
- To ensure the highest standards are maintained, SA reserves the right to reschedule or alter a tandem skydive with no prior notification. These changes do not constitute a claim for a refund and include changes to type of aircraft used, drop zone, check in time, jump time, number of participants in a plane, altitude reached, duration of free fall and location. Providing customers with a 100% safe and amazing experience is our number one focus.
Cancellations or Changes by SA due to Weather:
- If a skydive is cancelled due to weather, SA will endeavour to rebook the jump on a suitable alternative date before leaving the drop zone. If this is not possible, a ‘limbo’ credit will be issued to the customer to the value of the original skydive.
- A limbo credit will remain valid for a period of 12 months from the original jump date. After this date, the credit will be forfeited, and no refunds will be given. This credit can be transferred to another SA location.
- Customers must pay any price difference if changing to an experience of a higher booking value including upgrading to a higher jump height, changing to a weekend and public holiday, changing products, packages or skydive locations.
- Customers will not be due a refund if changing to an experience of a lesser booking value. All Groups will still be entitled to the group discount if their skydive is cancelled and they are unable to reschedule their jump as a group on the same date.
Risk Warning:
- Your participation in parachuting activities is inherently dangerous and may involve risks. These risks include, but are not limited to those arising from prevailing conditions such as weather or health conditions you may have. Despite careful packing, the parachute may open abruptly or not open correctly which may result in injury. Unintended incidents may occur during the aircraft flight, descent or on landing.
Parachuting at your own risk:
- Any person parachuting, training to parachute, flying in any aircraft being used for parachuting or participating in any activity carried out by Skydive Australia may only do so on the distinct understanding that they do so entirely at their own risk.
Refunds
- In cases where a skydive is unable to proceed due to operational or weather-related reasons, customers will be offered an alternative date, a transfer to another Skydive Australia location, or a refund.
- If a customer transfers to a location with a lower retail price, the difference will be refunded. However, the guest must pay the difference if the new location or experience costs more than $50 above the original value directly to Skydive Australia.
