Get Wet Surf School was established in 2005 and has since become one of Queensland’s leading surf schools. What began as a hobby for Kerri has grown into a well-respected institution offering lessons tailored to students with various goals, whether they are looking to learn how to surf or simply experience an iconic Australian activity. The school’s instructors are dedicated to ensuring that each student has a fun, safe, and encouraging experience on the water.

With over 15 years of experience, Get Wet Surf School has built a team of skilled instructors who share a passion for surfing, tourism, and customer service. The school is highly regarded within the surfing and tourism industries and works closely with Griffith University’s Tourism and Business Management department to research tourism trends and experiences.

Get Wet Surf School is actively involved with Gold Coast Tourism and Queensland Tourism Events, helping to promote the Gold Coast and Queensland through media familiarisation, events, and television productions, such as The Bachelor New Zealand, Chinese I Supermodel, TEQ’s The Great Aussie Reunion, Today Show, Saturday Morning Disney, and Sunrise. The school also supports local community initiatives, hosting charity events, fundraising for local causes, and participating in environmental efforts like clean-up days at The Spit and the Local Seaway.

Over the years, Get Wet Surf School has had the privilege of teaching a range of high-profile individuals, including Robbie Fowler, Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Lions, Rachael Beck, the MTV stunt crew, GoPro team members, and even the Wiggles, offering them unforgettable surfing experiences.

• The shuttle is for participants only.
• The bus can be booked for a small fee.
• The lessons are held at The Spit and there’s ample FREE parking at the location.
• Student rates are applicable to anyone who is the holder of a valid student ID – children, adults and international students.
• Children under 6 years are recommended to do a private surf lesson for their own safety.
• Children 6-12 and under are not permitted to join the group lessons with adults for their own safety, special exemptions may be made if the child is physically capable but that must be approved by Get Wet Surf School management.
• Children’s only classes (for 6-12 year old’s) are held during school holidays and most Saturday mornings.
• Children’s only classes offer a  4 students to 1 instructor ratio for safety.
• Parents are welcome to assist small children in a children’s only class if that are competent in the water.

Cancellation Policy:

• As standard, 24 hours’ notice must be given for full refund ( excluding booking and credit card fees ), up to 12 hours prior partial refunds may be given depending on the nature of the cancellation, but this will be at the operators discretion and a $20 (per person) re-booking fee may apply if you re schedule.
• For corporate/MICE or special private groups a deposit will be required upon invoicing, in the circumstances of a deposit being waived at the time of invoicing at the discretion of management, a $100 admin fee will be required if the booking is cancelled after the invoice is issued.
• If it is deemed unsafe to proceed by the operator due to poor surf conditions at the scheduled time, we will offer an alternative booking time for you and if it is not possible due to travel commitments to reschedule a full refund ( excluding booking and credit card fees ),  will be offered.
• If you are not at the designated pick up location at the correct time or if you arrive for the lesson more than 10 min late the class will have commenced and you will not be able to attend and your fees with be forfeited.
